After-hours RAR vote: Trash. Before I comment on the rest of the show, I'll keep listening till you take it down. Wonderful first set.
Yes, even the Der Bingle magic couldn't save that one.
The Steve Nelson stuff is very good. He plays with Dave Holland quite a bit. The Stan Getz is one of those records that inevitably falls between the cracks as the years go by. A fine release despite the crazy dolphin snaps.
Ken,
I'm going to be in Richmond. Give me a call. Email if you don't have the number. I arrive Wed. then will be up in DC area over the weekend, back the following week, etc.
Give me a call or an email.
Nice show.
Was it the vibraphone? Was it the "channeling" of dolphins? Something about this set set in motion my desire to write a piece set at the Palms at Indian Head (cited in a post some weeks ago), "channeling" the now-extinct Arva in Arlington. We'll see what comes of it.
Too bad about the hiatus. The show will be missed.
