Hi, Ken - really nice show! As well you know, Freddie is at the top of my jazz pantheon. I dare say his influence on trumpeters rivals that of Miles'. I believe it was Nat Hentoff who coined the expression "brass-proud" to characterize Hubbard's sound & style, and that about says it all!

Thx, Giz! You always come to mind when I play Freddie. Do you own that live blue note DVD that shows him playing Cantaloupe Island with Herbie and Joe Henderson? He really pulls out the artillery on that one.
