I'm thinkin: "Why mess with Living For The City in this way? Sure, Mr Ramsey Lewis, pick a tune at random and cover it. But take the slip of paper with the name of Stevie's wonderful tune out of the hat first." However I'm ready to listen to treasure-oriented voters, before I cast my vote.

You are right. This prompts me to sign out some library books about him. I see in the description of one: "A separate chapter considers the recordings of his work by other artists."
I've always felt that Innervisions is Stevie's best.
