2 Comments:
No clue what Cocteau was goin’ on about (maybe Suzanne will enlighten me), but it was, er – stirring? Enjoyed the show. Brian Jones Wurlitzer Trio―Cut College and Walter Davis, Jr.―S’make It were new names to me.
Belated Treasure vote. But oh that title?!
Version 1 of Nostalgia over 2. A comment to follow, if I can get in another listen.
Does a recording exist of your assistant’s version of When the Saints Go Marching In?
Very frustrating: more so lately, my work computer prevents the show from playing. Sometimes the same show is blocked one day, not the next.
Glad you enjoyed the show. Brian Jones is actually recording a live show with his quintet here in Richmond on May 18th. Should be excellent.
Nostalgia is such a fine lyrical tune, but one of very few original compositions by Fats Navarro, who mostly played other composer's works.
The live recording of Saints does indeed exist, but it has to be converted to a different audio format. Having troubles in that department.
Cheers!
